Wondering why i'm jumping to history all of a sudden.. oh please.. don't think i'm a great fan of history. ah ah.. not me. Saw this movie recently " The Boy In The Striped Pajamas" - a movie that talks about holocaust. A secret method carefully drafted by the Germans, to kill millions of Jews by burning them alive in stone chambers. Merciless.. yes of course. I'm sure talent and smartness caused the Jews a lot. May be, the Americans handled competition better than the Germans. The way Jews were treated was horrible (may not be the exact expression that matches the scene) . May be they were classified as wood sticks rather than humans. They were evacuated from their home lands, transferred to different camps, just to face death. The camps were classified into death camps and refuge camps.. can you believe it??. Big deal, anyways the jews were never left for a long time in the refuge camps.. Such was the situation of those victims, whose every possible means and scope of existence was marked by the Germans.
The movie talks about a beautiful friendship that evolves around two small boys, one - a holocaust victim named Shmuel, and the other a German named Bruno. Shmuel, just like any other jew, lived in one of the camps that were built with the special feature of stone chambers. Guess this poor boy was in a death camp, wondering what to do, having got himself caught up in a series or rather a life full of unfortunate events . He, was never allowed to go out, must do the work so ordered, and so should he die when ordered. It was painful to watch this movie and couldn't believe that this happened in history. The Jews were never to be spoken to, and were considered to be the most degraded people. Even the children were of no exception. It was a very dark time for the Jews, i should say, where, ill treatment and awful killing, were the only two things that revolved around them. They were transported to the death camps and burnt in lots, say about a 40 to 50 in one chamber. Well... it doesn't look as short and plain as it sounds. Let me explain...... Once they reach the death camps, these jewish refugees work for a while, before being moved to horse stable kind of rooms and fed nude into the chambers.
Chambers..... how can i miss to explain that.
"Those were dungeons,
living on gun powder,
that howl signs of death.
Covered by complete darkness,
outside and within,
refugees wonder in fear "what next"???
For a second, they would see a light
that flashes their shadows
on the chamber walls, standing tall.
But, before they realise what it was,
they live no more, for,
it would make them burn and fall".....
No wonder Hitler shot himself (all though there are clarifications still awaited on his death). Im sure all their voices and memories would have haunted him.

Talks about holocaust reminds me of madam Anne Frank, who was a victim herself. Though i had been to Amsterdam, i couldn't visit madam Anne Frank's museum. You can imagine the queue. It is a great deal to comprehend a person's life. But this part of her life was really striking my head, the time since, i saw this movie. So, just tried to recollect her. Amsterdam - the most beautiful place I've seen so far. But not to this fifteen year old who lost her family there. That was her family's hiding place for about two years and one month, where they were later joined by two other families. Well, i guess she would have felt like pouring out all her emotions, fears and what not, and that gives us her diary. From whatever i read, i feel that she is way matured for her age. She has a very simple understanding or "The Funda" as we all call, to live life peacefully. Writing is a very good form of relief. You can just pen down whatever you feel like and it feels so good once you do that. May be thats why she wrote and may be i should have started to blog a little early.
Now, back to our story...
"Anne was just like any other normal girl, you know, the, going to school, friends, school grades and evening games stuff. She started to write about all these in her diary and it continued until she went hiding. As i said, "Jews are smart". The Franks, felt an urgent necessity to flee to some secret hiding place with their family, as they could smell their enemies approaching Netherlands with a death banner. So, they move to their new hiding place in Amsterdam. It was called " The Secret Annex" or i would call it "The fight club", 'cause the families were busy with their own opinion clashes. The books served good here, as it was a book shelf that lead them to the family's secret hiding place. If we had such a huge pathway behind my school library book shelves... im sure my friend's and i would have figured out some way to escape..... So, Anne stays there for two years and a month, before her family gets arrested and transfered to Westerbork, a camp that was situated in the north eastern part of Netherlands. There she was separated from her family except for her sister Margot Betti Frank, and there, the sisters died, due to typhus... Anne following Margot".
After sneaking into her life, i could do nothing but pity this small girl, for she was denied a peaceful life. She didn't wish for something thats impossible. All that this girl wanted was ' a quiet place, alone, with the heavens, nature and God"......
Oops ....I didn't get to listen to, the other side of the story, meaning, what did the Jews do other than establishing competitive businesses, to earn "The Great German Grudge". Well.... that is something which i need to look into, but for now, i'm atleast happy it ended with Hitler. Phewwww....
